Due to the large number of ILM/FIM projects I’ve been involved with over the years, I can call myself product specialist on FIM 2010. This morning I finally took the time to take the “Forefront Identity Manager 2010, Configuring” exam. To my pride I can say that I passed the exam! In my preparation, I noticed that there is not much material available that is specifically intended for that exam. Actually, therefore I took the exam without any preparation at all.
Luckily, my experience in the field was enough to pass the exam. The questions mostly covered the following subjects:
- Migration from ILM 2007 to FIM 2010
- Configuring Management Policy Rules, Worflows and Synchronization Rules
- Provisioning, using the FIM Synchronization and the FIM Portal
- Fail-over scenario’s
- Configuring Self service password reset
So, if you’re planning to take the exam, be sure you have knowledge about the topics above. Good luck!
